“The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said. “I’m being kept updated on developments and ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate.”

At a press conference late Monday evening a representative for the North West Ambulance Service said 27 people had been taken to four different hospitals, while other people took themselves to hospital. One adult and one child sustained serious injuries while 20 more people were treated at the scene. A paramedic was hit by the car but was uninjured.

A police representative said they believed it was an isolated incident and that it is not being treated as terrorism.
