In the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers took their second-straight Iowa Hawkeye when they chose wide receiver and return specialist Kaden Wetjen. Wetjen joins Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard as the two receivers the Steelers chose.
Where Wetjen is going to impress is as a return man. He was the best returner in college football last season as he led the country with 29.8 yards per kickoff return and 26.8 yards per punt return. He also had three punt return touchdowns.

As for where he will fit on the depth chart, Wetjen isn’t going to challenge the top three receivers for reps. He only caught 20 passes last season. But he could find a spot as the team’s No. 5 receiver in a group with Ben Skowronek and Roman Wilson. It might be a little unusual for two of five receivers, Wetjen and Skowronek, to be almost exclusively special teamers but both guys can run routes and make some catches in a pinch.
